The Lagos State Government, through its Office of Public-Private Partnerships, has shortlisted three bidders for the construction of the Fourth Mainland Bridge in Lagos. Speaking at a media briefing on Saturday in Lagos, the Special Adviser to the Governor on PPP, Mr. Ope George said the three bidders shortlisted for the RFP Stage II are Mota-Engil (Nigeria & Africa) CCCC & CRBC consort; CGGC-CGC Joint Venture and CCECC & CRCCIG Consortium. This was contained in a statement released late Saturday. George explained that the fourth mainland bridge project was a Public-Private Partnership transport infrastructure development, which included the construction and operation of a green field tolled road and bridge with a design speed of 120km/h, including the development of adjacent real estate. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has suspended charges for Nigerians making cash deposits in banks. CBN governor Godwin Emefiele reiterated this while briefing journalists in Abuja on the expected impact of new naira notes in Abuja on Wednesday, 23 November 2022.  apex bank noted that the bank charges suspension specifically affects all cash deposits and electronic deposits of the Naira to the tune of N150,000.  Read more

Nigerian gospel Singer Sammie Okposo has reportedly passed on while undergoing treatment in a hospital. According to confirmed reports, the singer has been in and out of hospital undergoing undisclosed ailment, however, on November 25th, 2022, the singer breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the unnamed hospital. The singer died at the age of 51 and left behind a wife and children. His death comes months after he was accused of having extramarital affairs while away from his wife. Days after the accusations, the singer admitted to his mistakes and went on his Instagram account to publish an apology to his lovely wife. The Hallelujah master, as he is famously called, revealed through his Instagram that when he traveled to the United States, he was involved in an affair with another woman.
