- There is a camp in support of Ahmed Lawan and another in support of Godswill Akpabio There is a fresh crisis brewing in the All Progressives Congress (APC) as senators disagreed over who should take over Bukola Saraki's seat as Senate president. Trouble reportedly started after Ahmad Lawan (APC, Yobe) was selected against Senator Godswill Akpabio (APC, Akwa Ibom) as replacement of Saraki whom the party is allegedly working towards impeaching. Lawan was allegedly endorsed as Saraki’s replacement and Sunny Ogbuoji (APC, Ebonyi) was selected as replacement for Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.
